More Birthday Fun

We met up at Vince's, with family, for my birthday this year and it was yummy!  I feel very blessed to have such a wonderful family.  The kids even made me a chocolate birthday cake!  Thank you for celebrating with me everyone!

A Spa Day

Diane and I spent the day at the spa this past weekend to celebrate my birthday.  It was so wonderful.  We hung out by the pools all day and sipped our pina coladas.  We also tried the steam room (we only lasted about 5 minutes) and the roman baths.  She even treated me to a massage, man was that relaxing!  How blessed I feel to have such a great friend in my life...we always have a blast together!

A little mud never hurt anyone!

Diane begins her mud bath...notice the big clump of mud in the background!
When you get out of the mud bath you head over to this area to finish applying the mud to your legs!
Here we are in the Wafa...this is a rock steam room you can sit in after you have applied the mud.

Although we've been to Glen Ivy before, we've never tried the whole mud thing...it was interesting!  You go into the mud pool and slather red mud/clay all over yourself then go lay in the sun and let it dry.  After it dries you flake it off then go rinse off.  It is suppose to soften and exfoliate the skin...it worked!  It was just so odd to see grown women walking around with mud all over them, like it was so normal!

Think Blue

Mario and I went out with Matt and Jen to the Dodger game Friday night!  We had such a fun time...

Bowling

We took the kids bowling this week.  It was the first time we had tried this as a family and it was great!  Everyone enjoyed themselves!  It turns out that Dylan is a VERY good bowler, he gave his dad a real challenge.

He Did It!

Today was the day...Luke finally was able to cross his eyes!  He has been working on this for a long time now.  He was very proud of himself.  Some of the the other things on his list to accomplish before he turns 5 include...whistling, snapping, the taco tongue and loosing a tooth!

Biking in Santa Monica

We got up early an went to the Santa Monica Pier yesterday morning.  They have a bike trail that runs along the shore that we have been wanting to try.  We rode 20 miles round trip!  The weather was so nice and the kids had a really fun time!  It's one of the things we enjoy doing as a family that everyone looks forward to.  I didn't take many pictures because we were just enjoying some family time...

Hollywood

The Ivy
LA Ink
Michael Jackson's Star
Christina Aguilera filming a Music Video

After biking by the pier we headed into Hollywood.  There is ALWAYS something interesting going on there!  You can usually catch a glimpse of a celebrity and this time was no exception.  We cruised by The Ivy, LA Ink and then stopped in by Mann's Chinese Theatre.  While we walked down the steps at the near by shopping area we realized we were walking through something important when the security guy began yelling at all of us to move quickly.  When we reached the bottom of the stairs we saw Christina Aguilera come down...some one said she was shooting a music video.

Thank Goodness for the Fountain

Cousins: Casey, Luke, Reese, Cameron and Mariah
The Victoria Gardens Fountain

Reese was not afraid to get his face in there...that's for sure!
Reese, Casey and Luke trying to hold the water down.

We decided to head to the fountain at the mall on Tuesday.  We met up with my brother and his family so the kids could play.  It was a great way to cool off and the kids love to see their cousins!

Summer Beach Party

Everyone at the shore scoping out the waves!
Campfire and S'mores
Best Friends!
My awesome barbecuer!
Kerri, Karen, Kim, Diane, Adriana and Laura

We spent our Saturday at Huntington Beach in honor of Diane and the boys! Since they've recently moved we wanted to send them off right and make sure they know how much they'll be missed and are loved. We had so many friends able to join us and it made the day wonderful. We barbecued, boogie boarded and had a campfire and s'mores. We didn't leave until they kicked us out! If you've been blessed enough to know them, you know what a great family they are. They bring so much joy to those around them and we will miss them all so much (especially me). But, we are excited to see what God has planned next for them!

Independence Day

We spent the holiday with friends and family at my mom and dad's house. We went swimming and had a BBQ!
Jacob, Mariah and Luke all participated in the watermelon eating contest. Jacob tied for 1st and Luke got 3rd!
They also had a homemade ice cream contest and Mariah was a judge. They tasted flavors such as Savory Corn and Mint 'n' Chip. But we missed last year's entry...Guacamole Jalapeno! ;0)
