The Griffith Observatory

On Friday we spent the day at the Griffith Observatory.  I had never been there and really wanted to take the kids.  It was great!  There was a lot to see and learn and the views were beautiful (even though it was a little smoggy).  I forgot my camera so my camera phone pics will have to do this time (such a bummer)!

There were several shows and exhibits to see while we were there.

My personal favorite was the scale that told you how much you weigh on the moon!  I've decided to go with my "moon weight" from now on...I'm only 22 lbs. there!  Our whole family got on the scale and together the six of us weighed just over 100 lbs!

We did a little shopping in the gift store too...

Sleep Over!

Lil' Buddy and I had to stay at the hospital for a couple days this week while they ran some tests for his very bad Acid Reflux.  He was such a trooper!  Trust me, the testing they had to do was no fun but he did so well with all of it!  We are relieved to find that he has no abnormalities or damage.  We are just waiting on the results of the biopsies now and are praying that those come back tomorrow with good news too!  If so, then it looks like he will just have to take a daily dose of Previcid and we can definitely live with that!

Thank God for your healthy kiddos.  There were so many in Peds this week who were not.  My heart goes out to them and their families.

Happy Anniversary!

Today we are celebrating our wedding anniversary!  We can't believe it's been 14 years!  God's goodness, grace and mercy has been so evident in our lives.  We feel very blessed and can't wait to see what the next 14 years will bring.

Back to School!

Wow, I can't believe it.  The summer is over.  Jacob, Mariah and Luke all headed back to school on Monday (Dylan starts today).  We are blessed this year to have some really incredible teachers.  I'm looking forward to all that this school year will bring.  Dylan is in his sophomore year and will learn how to drive in October.  Jacob is in his 7th grade year and now taller than me:(.  Mariah is finishing her 5th and final year of elementary school and Luke is all grown up and headed to school full day in 1st grade!

Wrightwood Camping Trip

We spent the weekend in the mountains camping with Diane and the boys.  We took a hike, played Charades, Sardines, Hide 'n' Seek and even had a Badminton tournament!  The kids rode their bikes and scooters and whittled wood they found on our hike. We didn't see much wildlife other than the raccoon who was checking out Diane's tent the first night.  Although, they did warn us that a bear had been seen the night before we arrived!  Luckily, we didn't see him ourselves.

Luke was using a Badminton racket as a guitar while singing his heart out in the middle of the forest!

Disneyland

We were sure to squeeze in a trip to Disneyland before school starts next week and had a blast!  I didn't take too many pictures because we were busy enjoying the day(we stayed to shut the place down)!  Our experience this time was different than in the past because Luke is now tall enough to ride pretty much everything but Indiana Jones!  This made for some awesome family time together.  It was...magical!
